Shopping Advice
When you become pregnant, one of the hurdles you have to face is buying maternity clothing. Not knowing what maternity wear to buy, when to buy it or how much you need, are questions that we have been commonly asked.
Some women can't wait to start buying maternity clothing to show off their baby bump where others are trying desperately to stay in their "normal" clothes as long as possible. Whatever your preference, eventually you will need to purchase some more "accommodating" clothing. Below are some points we found useful when buying maternity clothes.
Comfort should is one of the most important things to consider in maternity clothes. Maternity pants, maternity skirts and maternity shorts with adjustable waists, elastic panels or the over the bump pouch are very easy and comfortable for your ever growing belly. Tops made from material with a bit of give are always fantastic as they comfortable, will fit through the entire pregnancy and look great. Maternity dresses that are fitted under the bust and then flow out are perfect and very flattering for your pregnant belly.
Natural fibre's was another attribute I looked for when buying for my pregnancy. Look for fibre's that breathe and are soft against your skin. My belly offer a range of maternity clothing made from natural products like cotton, silk and jute, which feel fantastic when worn.
What and how much to buy is also a question regularly asked. A standard base waredrobe of maternity wear always came in handy for me.
x 1 pair of maternity jeans
x 1 maternity dress
x 1 maternity yoga pants or casual maternity pants
x 1 pair black maternity pants
x 3 maternity tops
Peoples lifestyle's vary but we found with the above items we always had something we could wear to work, on the weekends and out of an evening. We wore the singlet after the birth while breast feeding and the maternity tops were perfect while the belly was still a little bigger than pre-pregnancy.
Buying maternity clothing can be a pretty daunting task as you want something that will last, doesn't cost the earth and makes you feel beautiful. We understand.
